Is this evidence?

No, it is not.
The figure above represent data. It is visual data - a set of bands. As such, to many, it may be nothing more than meaningless data.
How are these data converted into evidence? By understanding its context. By understanding its context. The context above is a particular type of experiment known as the gel mobility shift assay. Further context involves knowing the proteins and DNA involved. Such context allows us to convert this raw, empirical data into evidence for a particular protein-DNA interaction.
But where does understanding come from?
What is the source of the context?
Mind.
Evidence is a mind-dependent reality.
